JA Tracker

A personal tool for planning work, study, projects and available time.

A tool built around my own working week

JA Tracker brings together work, study, projects and time tracking. It is an internal tool: I am its customer as well as its product owner.

Product ownership in practice

Claude built the application. My work was to define the needs, prioritize behavior, review the interface and act as project manager through the iterations. That distinction matters: the project shows how I specify and evaluate a useful workflow, not independent authorship of its code.

A useful design correction

A remainder in a time budget is unallocated time. It is not evidence of time actually spent with family or recovering. The tracker labels that distinction explicitly so inferred hours are not mistaken for observed behavior.

Implementation context

The application uses FastAPI, SQLite and JavaScript. The code and personal records remain private.

What the project demonstrates

Translating an everyday need into requirements, a reviewable interface and repeated feedback. The same approach can inform a small internal-tool pilot, with its own evaluation and data boundaries.
