Building Nordic Trails, a full-stack hiking platform
The design story behind Nordic Trails — a hiking platform I built end to end and now run in production at nordictrails.dk: an async FastAPI + PostGIS backend, a React/MapLibre offline-capable frontend, an optional on-device LLM trail assistant, and a graceful-degradation principle that lets it run anywhere from a small VPS to a Raspberry Pi cluster.
